ROSWELL, NM — Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell celebrated the completion of the Health Science Renovation and Nursing Program Expansion with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony held on May 7, 2026.

The event welcomed Redcoats from the Roswell Chamber of Commerce, community partners, faculty, staff, and honored guests to celebrate the newly renovated state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance healthcare education and support student success.

Distinguished guests in attendance included Representative Angelita Mejia, Mayor Tim Jennings, Community College Board President Cla Avery, Vice President Tamaliah Lueras, and Secretary Risse Daubert. Representatives from the ENMU-Roswell Foundation also attended, including Steve Henderson, Jon Hitchcock, and Oscar Armendariz.

The renovation and expansion project reflects ENMU-Roswell’s continued commitment to strengthening healthcare education opportunities in southeastern New Mexico. The upgraded facility will provide nursing students with enhanced learning environments, hands-on training opportunities, and modern resources to support their educational journey and future careers in healthcare.

ENMU-Roswell extends a special thank you to ASA Architects and Waide Construction for their dedication and work in designing and constructing the renovation project.

The university also expresses appreciation to all community partners, supporters, and individuals who helped make the expansion possible and who continue to support healthcare education in the Roswell community.
