ENMU-Roswell Foundation Honors 2025 Kosa Merit Award Recipients

ROSWELL, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell Foundation proudly honored Dusty Baker and Joey Coburn as the recipients of the esteemed 2025 Kosa Merit Award during the Community College Board Meeting on April 23, 2025, at ENMU-Roswell. The awards were presented by Dr. Stephen Grieco, Vice President for Academic Student Affairs, alongside Steve Henderson, President of the ENMU-Roswell Foundation.

Dusty Baker, a dedicated Welding Instructor who has served the institution since 2009, and Joey Coburn, a passionate Math Instructor who joined ENMU-Roswell in 2017, were selected for their outstanding contributions to teaching, student engagement, professional excellence, and service to the college community.

The Kosa Merit Award has honored instructional excellence at ENMU-Roswell since 1970. Named in tribute to William and Ethel Kosa, whose $31,000 gift helped lay the foundation for what would become the ENMU-Roswell Foundation, the award continues to reflect their enduring legacy of educational support. Their generosity played a key role in the development of the campus and its commitment to academic excellence.

Each year, two faculty members are selected by their peers to receive the Kosa Merit Award. Recipients are presented with an engraved plaque and a $500 stipend in recognition of their exceptional contributions to student success and the life of the institution.
