Outcomes
CAAHEP Accredited Paramedic Programs and CoAEMSP Letter of Review (LoR) Programs track and report outcome measures annually to the Committee on Accreditation for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
The most current CoAEMSP Annual Report was for the calendar year 2022.
The most recent success rate for the National Registry of EMT Paramedic/State Cognitive exam was 88.9%.
The most recent positive placement rate for graduates was 88.9%.
Positive placement is defined by the CoAEMSP as ‘Employed full or part-time in a related field and/or continuing his/her education and/or serving in the military.' Positive placement is measured at completion of the program.
The most recent retention rate was 90%.
General Admission Criteria
Admission to the Paramedic program is limited. All students entering the Paramedic program should consider the following information:
- Students ENTER or RE-ENTER the Paramedic program under the CURRENT Catalog. Therefore, it is important to carefully read the entire catalog.
- Students must be New Mexico licensed EMT-I or AEMT
- Contact an advisor in either the EMS program or the [ Advising Services ]
- Submit an application of admission to ENMU-Roswell
- Submit an [ Application of Admission ] to the Paramedic program.
- It is the student’s responsibility to have official high school transcripts and any college transcripts sent to the Admissions and Records Office by the required date.
Accreditation
The Paramedic Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Service Professions.
The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is a programmatic post-secondary accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). CAAHEP is the only nationally recognized accreditor for EMS education, and CoAEMSP is the only organization recognized by CAAHEP to provide accreditation services for Paramedic and, beginning in 2025, AEMT education programs.

Paramedic A. A. S.
In addition to supporting institutional learning outcomes and building upon the foundational general education outcomes, upon completion of this program students will be able to:
- Exhibit exemplary professional behavior
- Perform a paramedic level patient assessment across all age groups and demographics
- Analyze assessment findings and develop an appropriate treatment plan for patients across all age groups
- Integrate paramedic level decision making and leadership in the areas of general medical, trauma care, and EMS operations
- Perform the skills and procedures of a paramedic with proficiency across all age groups and demographics
