ENMU-ROSWELL FOUNDATION WELCOMES RICHARD TAYLOR

  

The ENMU-Roswell Foundation Board of Directors recently approved the appointment of Richard C. Taylor, CPA, President and Owner of May, Taylor & Company, P.C., as a new member.

 Taylor has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from California State University at Los Angeles. Taylor served in the United States Air Force and has more than 50 years of experience in public accounting. Taylor is a member of the New Mexico and Texas Societies of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Taylor has been a Roswell resident for 50 years and has been active in numerous community organizations. He served on the Roswell City Council for seven years and on the Chaves County Commission for eight years. He was a member of the Board of Trustees for Eastern New Mexico Medical Center for six years. He also served as the Treasurer of the Chaves County Republican Party for twenty years.

Taylor is a member of the Board of Trustees and Board President of the Assurance Home. He is a member of the Financial Council and served as Youth director at St. Peter’s Church. He was a Little League coach for ten years and served on the Roswell Boy’s and Girl’s Club Board of Directors for six years. He is currently a committee member of Boy Scout Troop 149. Taylor and his wife, Diane, have three children and numerous grandchildren.

The other members of the board are Charlie Blanco, Brian Byrd, Jose Chavez, Laurie Archuleta Dudek, Cassie Holloway, Alejandra Martinez, Mike McLeod, Adriann Ragsdale, and LaNelle Witt. Steve Henderson serves as President, Jon Hitchcock serves as Vice President and Treasurer and Kay Rogers serves as Secretary. Ex officio board members are Mireya Trujillo, President, Community College Board and Dr. Shawn Powell, President, ENMU-Roswell.

The Foundation’s Board of Directors is made up of civic and business leaders in Chaves County who are dedicated to supporting one of the region’s most important assets, ENMU-Roswell. The Eastern New Mexico University- Roswell Foundation is a non-profit group organized under 501 (c) (3) regulations to receive and distribute funds to assist the university and students enrolled at ENMU-Roswell. The foundation provides scholarships and other financial assistance to support education and training at the Roswell campus.
