Charlie Smith

Charlie Smith (b. 1988, Copenhagen, DK) is a sculptor who uses methodical techniques in woodworking to question structures of perception and recognition. His work has been exhibited at a variety of venues, including artist-run spaces such as Kill Shelters Presents (Los Angeles, CA) and Babayaga (Hudson, NY); galleries including Et Al (San Francisco, CA) and Night Gallery (Los Angeles, CA); and museums such as the Dorsky Museum (New Paltz, NY) and WAAM (Woodstock, NY). He holds an MFA from Bard College and a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and is currently a 2006 Fellow at the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program.
