ENMU-Roswell Welcomes Dr. Craig R. Leager as Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs

ROSWELL, N.M.– Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Craig R. Leager as the new Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, effective July 1, 2026.

Most recently from Monroe, Iowa, Dr. Leager has built a distinguished career in education, holding academic and executive leadership roles at institutions across Iowa, Minnesota, and Texas. His professional journey spans the full continuum of education—from K–12 teaching and school administration to senior leadership in higher education, including service as Executive Dean of Instruction, Founding Director of Teaching and Learning Center, Provost and Chief Academic and Student Affairs Officer, as well as Chief Executive Officer and Founder of a higher education consulting firm.

Dr. Leager is a transformational executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience. A proven executive leader with expertise in academic affairs, student services, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, faculty and staff development, enrollment strategy, and external partnerships. He is also experienced in stewarding public resources and overseeing grant funding.
