ENMU-ROSWELL STUDENT RECEIVES
RESPIRATORY CARE SCHOLARSHIP
Congratulations to Candace Ramberg, the 2016 ENMU-Roswell recipient of the New Mexico Society for Respiratory Care (NMSRC) Cory Sufrin Scholarship. The award is for outstanding academic achievement and professionalism. Ramberg received a check for $250 from Roger Willcoxen, NMSRC past president, board member and 2003 graduate of the ENMU-Roswell Respiratory Therapy program. “We are very proud of Candace,” said Mavis Williams, Respiratory Therapy Program director. “She has worked very hard at achieving her goal to become a respiratory therapist.”
Cory Sufrin was a Respiratory Therapy educator at UNMH in Albuquerque who died of brain cancer. A scholarship was established not long after his death by the NMSRC. The scholarship was established to assist students in respiratory therapy programs with their education. It is considered by the NMSRC as an “investment in the future of the Respiratory Therapy profession.” Each of the respiratory care programs in the state select one worthy recipient.
