ENMU-ROSWELL OFFERS NEW PROGRAMS IN
BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES AND WORKPLACE EFFECTIVENESS
ENMU-Roswell is offering two new programs of study this coming fall semester, which begins August 22. The ENMU Board of Regents recently approved a new Associate of Arts degree in Behavioral Sciences and a Certificate of Completion in Workplace Interpersonal Effectiveness.
The Behavioral Sciences Associate of Arts degree (60 credit hours) is an academic transfer program designed to introduce students to the fields of Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology. Through this course of study, students will complete the general education courses similar to those required of freshmen and sophomores in four-year universities. Students will also be introduced to the various career fields within Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology. Students planning to transfer to a four-year degree program in Psychology, Sociology, or Anthropology should carefully coordinate their Associate of Arts classes with the general education requirements of the four-year university to which they plan to transfer.
The Certificate of Completion in Workplace Interpersonal Effectiveness is a three-semester (40 credit hours) program which will prepare individuals to significantly contribute in a positive manner to any workplace environment, increasing their employment opportunities. The certificate program was established in response to todays’ changing workplace environment.
“People entering the workforce are encountering increased diversity, as well as greater competition for promotion and advancement,” said Rick Scifres, instructor of Social and Behavioral Science at ENMU-Roswell. “The curriculum will equip the successful student with the skills and knowledge required to enter the workforce and interact effectively with any member of a diverse and dynamic workplace, regardless of the specific work environment.”
