ENMU-Roswell will hold its second annual Aviation Camp June 11-13. The deadline to sign up for the camp has been extended to Friday, June 1. The camp is designed for high school students entering 9-12 grade who will learn to fly a real airplane. The camp will cost $99 to attend. Camp hours are Monday, Noon to 5 pm., Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to noon.

The camp will offer a variety of activities designed to help students explore the exciting careers and opportunities available in aviation. In addition to flying a plane with a Certified Flight Instructor, students will learn about drones, visit maintenance operations, tour the control tower at the Roswell Airport, work on an airplane project, see a hot air balloon demonstration and hear from civilian, commercial, and military aviation experts. At the end of the camp, participants will be awarded a certificate and a solo log book.

Space is limited to 40 participants, so students need to complete an application by Friday, June 1. Applications are available in office 101 of the Lawrence C. Harris Occupational Technology Center at 22 W. Mathis St. on the ENMU-Roswell campus.
