LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL GRADS URGED TO APPLY FOR GEAR UP SCHOLARSHIP
Recent 2017 public high school graduates in Chaves County are encouraged to take advantage of the $1000 GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) scholarship to help pay for their college education. GEAR UP Scholarships are available to 2017 graduates of Dexter High School, Goddard High School, Hagerman High School, Lake Arthur High School, Roswell High School and Early College High School in Roswell.
The scholarship can be used to attend ENMU-Roswell or any accredited degree granting institution in the U.S. To obtain the scholarship award, graduates must complete and submit the GEAR UP Scholarship application and provide official high school transcripts or GED (HiSET) certificate; verification of U.S. citizenship eligibility requirements; and verification of enrollment in an accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (billing statement). The deadline for students to submit their information is July 1.
ENMU-Roswell officials say this is a unique opportunity for local high school graduates. Information and the application is also under the Financial Aid/Scholarships section of the ENMU-Roswell web site at www.roswell.enmu.edu Call the Financial Aid office at 575-624-7153 for more information about the GEAR UP scholarship.
GEAR UP is federally funded by the United States Department of Education and sponsored by ENMU-Roswell.
