CDL Graduate Determined to Succeed
The 92nd graduate of the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Program at ENMU-Roswell is a special success story. Rosa Webster, 45, recently completed in the 16-week training course and passed the CDL test. One month ago, she also had a baby girl, Raelynn. Despite being pregnant during her training, Webster said she couldn’t give up. “When I start something, I have to finish it,” she said. “I’m a determined woman.”
Webster said when she was looking for a job, many businesses asked her if she had a CDL. “I thought, why not? And you can make good money. It’s a lot of responsibility, but I love it.” After her previous jobs in government and banking, this is a very different career for her and being a woman in the field is also challenge. She thanks instructor, Pat Olguin, for providing her with good advice and training even though she was nervous in the beginning of the program. Olguin said Webster is actually the 16th female to complete the course. “I’m very proud of her success,” he said. “She worked hard and knew that failure was not an option. She was determined to complete.”
Webster said she is excited about the future and plans to use her new skills and CDL to find employment in Roswell or Artesia. For information about the CDL program at ENMU-Roswell, call 575-624-7337.
