ENMU-ROSWELL ENROLLING STUDENTS FOR BOOKKEEPING/ACCOUNTING CERTIFICATE
Bookkeepers and accountants are in high demand in Southeastern New Mexico and across the United States. ENMU-Roswell is now enrolling students for its Certificate of Occupational Training in Bookkeeping/Accounting, which can be completed online in two semesters. Students who successfully complete the certificate will be prepared to become full-charge bookkeepers. Accounting courses are also available to anyone needing more accounting credit hours for their job or to become Certified Public Accountants.
All business types need bookkeepers,” said Carol Dutchover, Bookkeeping/Accounting instructor, “I am often contacted by employers looking for bookkeepers, including accounting firms. A bookkeeper with a certificate and a little experience can expect to be paid close to $15 an hour. The kind of students who are good for the program are people who pay attention to detail. The math part of accounting is pretty simple, but details are very important.”
Certification is proof of bookkeeping skills and ability and that high, national standards have been met. The fall semester at ENMU-Roswell begins August 27. Registration is now open online at www.roswell.enmu.edu or on campus. For more information, contact Dutchover at 575-624-7329.
