New Mexico State University at Alamogordo is seeking to fill a 9-month non-tenure track College Instructor or College Assistant Professor position for Automotive Technology.

Required Qualifications:  Associate degree in automotive technology and 5 years of experience in automotive technology; knowledge and experience sufficient to teach freshman and sophomore levels of automotive technology curriculum; minimum of 2-years Community College teaching experience; ASE Master Certified in Automotive; experience with student learning assessment and program assessment; experience managing budgets; ability to work effectively with faculty and administration; experience in preparing students to take Automotive Certification exams.

Qualifications Preferred: Certification in one of the automotive hybrid technologies; understanding of the community college mission and philosophy and ability to teach to a diverse student body.

Responsibilities: Provide equivalent of 15-credit hours of instruction in the fall and spring academic semesters in all levels of automotive technology; work with administration and campus facilities to assist in automotive technology program and learning facilities; develop courses and labs as needed; conduct ongoing assessment of courses; teach weekends, evenings, and off-campus, as assigned;  participate in professional development activities; participate in community service; participate in various committee assignments for the benefit of NMSU-A; coordinate with other NMSU community colleges and appropriate external agencies and organizations; develop plan for the automotive program to receive national certification; perform other related duties as assigned.
