The Student Outreach Program, TRIO, is a composite of four programs designed to improve academic performance, increase student motivation, and smooth the transition from one level of education to the next. 

TRiO services are designed to prepare disadvantaged/eligible persons for successful entry, retention, and completion of postsecondary education.

TRiO programs are now available at over 1000 colleges and at more than 90 community agencies nationwide, they provide career information and counseling, academic instruction, tutoring, and assistance in applying for financial aid.
