Food Services exists to provide meals to students that live in the residence halls. The purchase of a meal plan is mandatory for both full and part time students living in the residence halls.
Besides providing meals for the residence halls, Food Services is open to all students, faculty, staff and the general public. Various services offered are three meals on weekdays and two on the weekends. The Cafeteria offers a buffet during lunch along with a Pasta Bar or Stir Fry that alternate through the week; the Grill for sandwiches, hamburgers, fajitas, pizza, etc.; the Pool Snack Bar, during season; a variety of snacks and drinks; departmental catering as well as catering for community groups and conferences; military and government agency meals and occasionally aircraft in flight feeding.
Food Services also operates a kitchen to feed cadets at Youth ChalleNGe, seven days a week and operates Orville & Wilbur's at the RIAC Airport Terminal Building.
Meal Plans and Gold Cards are available to anyone. The Gold Card is a debit card and can be set up by starting an account at the Cashiers Office with as little as $25.00. As the card is used, the amount of the purchase is deducted from the balance. A Gold Card is a convenient way to be able to eat without having to remember to put cash in your pocket and helps you balance your budget.
