MDST 219 - Issues in Family Violence. Three credit hours. The study of family violence is a complex, multifaceted experience. By its very
nature, family violence involves physicians, medical assistants, nurses, counselors, social workers, educators, and law enforcement officials. This
course is designed to help these professionals become more aware of the extent of family violence in our society as well as recognize signs and
symptoms. The course covers child abuse, elder abuse, spousal abuse, incest, rape, and stalking. It also deals with reporting laws and victims
