All classes are available through the ENMU-Roswell Campus. Additionally, these classes are being taught throughout New Mexico via our network of qualified instructors. The CPR for Family and Friends course is a modular course that teaches rescuers skills in CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. It presents information about the AHA adult Chain of Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking in adults. The course also presents information on the AHA pediatric infant and child Chain of Survival, signs of choking in infants and children, prevention of sudden infant death syndrome, and prevention of the most common fatal injuries in infants and children.

The Heartsaver CPR/AED Course is a modular course that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child, and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in children. The program is divided into a choice of 3 different courses: Heartsaver CPR/AED for all ages; Heartsaver CPR/AED for Adults; and Heartsaver CPR for Infants and Children. Students also learn about using barrier devices. The course teaches how to recognize the signs of 4 major emergencies: heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and foreign-body airway obstruction.

The Heartsaver First Aid course combines adult, child and infant CPR/AED and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) with basic level of first aid procedures. Student of this course will be taught how to perform basic First Aid procedures for adult, CPR/AED for adult, child and infant CPR, Relieve a Foreign-body airway obstruction use a barrier device during rescue breathing use of an AED. This course also includes exciting chapters on Environmental Emergencies, Medical and Injuries.

The BLS Provider Course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages, including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), one and two Rescuers; and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It is intended for participants who provide healthcare to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital. Focus on the critical concepts of high-quality CPR. For certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed healthcare professionals.

The ACLS Provider Course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, 4 types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA, and asystole), 4 types of prearrest emergencies (bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia, and acute coronary syndromes), and stroke. Simulated Clinical scenarios encourages hands-on participation throughout the learning stations where student will practice essential skills individually as part of a team and as team leader and effective resuscitation team dynamics

The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is to provide the learner with (1) information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest; (2) information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children; and (3) the cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest.

The ACLS Experienced Provider Course is designed for seasoned ACLS providers who wish to renew their provider status. This course provides a stimulus for expert clinicians and scientists to identify areas in resuscitation that deal with special circumstances. Expands on the core ACLS course with the 5 quadrats approach, Special resuscitation emergencies (e.g., drowning), Toxicology emergencies, Metabolic emergencies and a deeper knowledge for understanding and treating ACLS patients. Case-based and group-interactive course of focused resuscitation topics

This course teaches providers how to recognize respiratory distress, shock and cardiac arrest, and provide appropriate lifesaving interventions within the initial minutes of response until the child is transferred to an advanced life support provider. The goal of PEARS is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes. PEARS is for healthcare providers such as emergency medical technicians (EMTs), medical and surgical nurses, school nurses and any other healthcare provider who infrequently sees critically ill infants and children.
