All first-time, degree-seeking, and certificate-seeking students are required to visit the Advising Center after either taking a placement test or receiving a test exemption (ACT score of 19 or better in each category). At this time, an Academic Advisor will...

• Review the student's goals and ensure that the major that has been entered in the student's record is compatible with those goals.
• Explain the results of the placement test.
• Explain the requirements of the program of study the student has chosen.
• Assist the student in setting up a schedule of courses for the upcoming semester.
• Guide the student through the registration process, explaining how to register by internet registration site.
• Answer any questions the student might have.
