Readmission

Students who have attended ENMU-Roswell but were not enrolled in classes in the semester immediately preceding re-enrollment are considered to be readmission students and are required to file an application for readmission. Students who have attended another college during this absence must have an official transcript sent from that institution.

Probation/Suspension

Students are suspended after one probationary semester (excluding interim and summer sessions). Students are readmitted after an absence of one semester (excluding interim and summer sessions).

Students will be placed on probation or suspension based on the following table:

Probation and Suspension
Credits for which grades were earnedProbationSuspension
0 - 16Below 2.0
17 or moreBelow 2.0Below 2.0 after one semester on probation

Probation students may enroll only during regular registration periods. Students suspended from any ENMU campus are suspended from the University. Suspended students must apply for readmission to the University, regardless of the campus of enrollment. Academic suspension will always be immediately preceded by one semester of academic probation. For transfer students not admitted in good standing, the first semester of attendance will be that probationary semester. Students suspended for the first time will not be allowed to apply for readmission to ENMU until after one REGULAR semester (fall or spring) has elapsed. A second academic suspension will result in a suspension of TWO REGULAR semesters before students may apply for readmission. Readmission in either instance is not automatic. Students seeking readmission must submit a letter to the Academic Standards Committee, who will set appropriate stipulations. Students readmitted after suspension will be placed on a suspension waiver with specified conditions for enrollment. These conditions may include a required GPA, repeat of certain courses, or other appropriate requirements. FAILURE TO MEET THE CONDITIONS OF THE SUSPENSION WAIVER may result in disenrollment, further suspension or denial of readmission to the University. Upon a third academic suspension, students will not be allowed to re-enroll at ENMU. Students may appeal a suspension to the Ad Hoc Admissions and Standards Committee.

Graduation

A guide assisting the graduation process is available at the Records Office.  All students expecting to complete their program of study (either certificate, associate of arts, associate of science, or associate of applied science) must file an application for graduation before the close of the semester preceding the expected completion date. The application should be filed with the Admissions and Records Office. Associate of arts, associate of science and associate of applied science graduates must pay a $15 graduation fee at the time the application is filed. After all grades have been evaluated at the end of the semester the student wishes to graduate, diplomas will be ordered. Diplomas will be mailed to graduating students approximately 8-10 weeks after the end of the semester. Degrees will be posted at the same time diplomas are ordered. Students wishing to participate in Commencement ceremonies and have their names published in a newspaper must state so on their application for graduation.

Graduating with Honors

Honors are awarded to students who graduate with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher for all Eastern New Mexico University courses taken by the end of their last semester. The notation "WITH HONORS" will be printed on the diplomas and posted on the transcripts of all such students. For pre-graduation publicity and Commencement materials, "HONORS" status will be determined based upon the cumulative GPA at the end of the semester preceding graduation.

Earning a Second Degree

Students may earn more than one associate degree through ENMU-Roswell. These may be pursued concurrently by meeting the requirements of each degree. The two degrees must total at least 79 credit hours, and the second associate degree must include at least 15 hours of credit which are not applied to the first degree.

Dean's Honor List

Students enrolled for 12 or more credit hours at ENMU-Roswell whose end-of-semester GPA is 3.25 or better will be listed on the Dean's Honor List. This list is prepared for the fall and spring semesters only.
