V. Approve Minutes |
Member Fresquez moved to accept the minutes from the May 10, 2011 meeting. Member Trujillo seconded. The motion was approved unanimously. |

Presidential Remarks: I. |
ENMU Portales President’s Remarks: : Dr. Gamble gave a brief report on the HED Funding Formula that is due on October 15, 2011, economic status of the State, and the Capital Project Hearings that will be held on the Roswell Campus August 12, 2011.

ENMU- Roswell President’s Remarks A hearing for Capital Outlay Funds will be held on our campus Friday, August 12, 2011. Representatives from the three ENMU Campuses will attend along with other campuses. We will be requesting funds for infrastructure improvements for our aging buildings. Secretary of Higher Education, Dr. Jose Garcia, will be on Campus August 12, 2011 and will possibly tour the facilities. ENMU-Roswell will co-sponsor a job fair on August 16, 2011. In-service activities for the 2011-2012 school year will be held August 19, 2011 from 8:00 -9:00 AM in the PAC. Special Services Graduation was the largest in history. Youth Challenge is back on Campus with a possible State commitment to build an open-bay building to house cadets. An exemption to the State Moratorium has been submitted for the Instructional Center. A CDL program is being developed on Campus. |

Information Items: I. |
CDL Training: Center for Transportation Safety (CTS) from Colorado has agreed to partner with ENMU-Roswell for a four week CDL program. CTS will furnish and maintain the truck. Work Force Development of Roosevelt, Chaves, and Curry have approved WIA funds for displaced workers to attend the program at a cost of $3,900 which includes CDL and drug testing fees. The classes will be eight hours per day, five days a week. |
